Summer art

I am taking a class right now: Design Challenges at Big Picture Classes. Challenge 3 was to scrap in orange, and here's what I did:

My boys rarely do art, so when they spontaneously pull out the paint and create, it's memorable.

The pictures aren't great, though, and for an art page, they didn't have any inspiring colors in them. Working with one color made it easier to capture the spirit of the event.

I had some art word stamps from Studio Calico that I wanted to use, but I didn't want them to be too dominant on the page. I inked them in Jenni Bowlin Chicken Feed ink, then stamped once on scrap paper, then stamped on the layout. Here's some close ups:



I also hand-stitched photo frames, which I love to do.


If you mist in a certain color, try doing this stamping trick to add a little more depth to the mist.
