New Pages at Scrapbook Circle: Hello Sunshine!

Hello! It's National Scrapbook Day, and I'm happy to share my pages that I made with the Scrapbook Circle May kit. Before I do, I want to share this wonderful opportunity:

Today Scrapbook Circle is having a hop on Instagram to celebrate National Scrapbook Day and their 9th anniversary! You have a chance to win one of five kits this weekend. The design team is doing an Insta Round Robin starting at 9 A.M. CST where you can visit the team's feed and be inspired with creations from the May kit. Scrapbook Circle will be selecting five kit winners from names of those who comment on team members' photos. Just tap the photo to see who to visit next! You will start at Scrapbook Circle's Instagram page.

And here's the pages I made with the kit:

I've had this photo of the boys for a while, not knowing what to do with it. Now that they are leaving elementary school, this shot of them at school with a rainbow behind them seemed a good photo to use on a page that looks back and looks ahead. The colors in the May kit fit perfectly with the colors in the photo. Design tip: the printables fit just right in the photo frames from the main kit!

Next is a page about my favorite things:

Mind you, I don't normally take photos like this of myself, but I had just gotten my phone back after having it repaired. (I had dropped it in the toilet--taking it out of my pocket, a bent edge of my case hooked my pocket, where it then flew out of my hands and into the drink. Sigh.) I trimmed the photo up to look like a Polaroid. LOVED layering all the bright and happy colors with this. The Sweet Day add-on and the Hello Love Add-on served me well here.

I found the letter stickers to be easier to use after I outlines them. And the layers I stitched, something I haven't done before, but I'm going to do again. Loved the look!

Now I have a  two-page layout used with some of the more masculine hues in the kit. I had 12 photos, and they were pretty dark, so I printed them small and lay them on a big random pile. Just for interest, I had the wood stretch over the page break.

Finally, the page I'm sharing on Instagram today. Since May is the month we celebrate mothers, I wanted to make a page to celebrate my Grandmother Henri, Great Granny Rahn to the boys. She is GORGEOUS and still so creative, even though she is over 90 years old. I used delicate, frilly patterns and bright, happy colors on this page, and I really dipped into the Hello Love Add-on  and Sweet Day Add-on for this page:

Thank you for checking out my pages! Now if you haven't yet, go to the Scrapbook Circle Instagram page and start the hop! It begins at 9 A.M. CST today.
