April pages for Scrapbook Circle

Hello! Now that winter is almost over in Minnesota, I've enjoying playing with spring colors in the April Scrapbook Circle kit Let's Do This. Here's the first page I made:

This page came from a life challenge that will be posted on the Scrapbook Circle blog at the end of the month. My page doesn't at a glance look much like the page, but it did inspire me a lot. I used a ton of the add-on Love It on this page. Here's some details:

Next came a page where I tried to evoke the colors I associate with Easter--yellow, aqua, pink, and green. Again I used lots of the add-on Love It:

Even though the April kit is fresh and soft, I tried to challenge myself to make something traditionally masculine too. More of the ephemera pack from Love It, plus the Printables and bits from the add-on This Way. Here's the page:

Finally, a page inspired by a chance recognition of the similarity between two photos:

I used some of the add-on Love it, plus the add-on This Way. Legos are colorful, so I used the most colorful products to reflect the color in the Legos.

Simple Scrapper April scrapbook pages!

Hello! I have had a busy month, nothing new. I did a lot of scrapbooking outside of design teams and will post about that later this week. For now, I thought I'd share my most recent Simple Scrapper pages.

This page uses April's story starter and a past sketch. I am loving using Project Life cards on my layouts, so I had fun looking for ones that either fit the color scheme or the theme, then accenting with fun details. Speaking of details:

My next page uses an April sketch and an old Story Starter. This page really started with the photo, which is not great but epitomizes how I watch big TV events: with my computer so I can Facebook and tweet about it. Here's the page:

I really liked how the office supply themed products from October Afternoon 9 to 5 worked with this story.

It's all about that 'net

Posting about the galleries up for the design teams I am on reminds me how much scrapbooking I have done recently! This is good because February is the end of the trimester for me, and I have been busy grading and moving my desk; the teacher office areas are going away so that construction next week can create new classrooms for my expanding school, so I've had to move my materials to my room, which has no desk until next year.

Here's my pages that I made for Simple Scrapper. First is a page using a new sketch and an old story starter:

First, I love the colors. Can you tell I'm ready for spring? I couldn't find anything that seemed to work in my recent kits for this page, so I dug through my stash, which was highly satisfying. That embellishment cluster may be one of my favorite things. And then some details:

Stitching anything down makes it look good.

Next comes the page I made with a new story starter and an old sketch. Funnily enough, both my pages were about the Internet.

Yep, that's a picture of me and my husband from 20 years ago this year. I found it clearing out my desk to change rooms. Here's the details:

I used remnants of a kit along with stash for this page. The color combo, by the way, is one of my favorites.

Leftover stickers from October Afternoon Thrift Shop worked well thematically.

New gallery at Write Click Scrapbook!

This winter has been cold, especially the closer we get to spring. Perhaps because of that, I loved making the page for the March gallery at Write Click Scrapbook:

I love this patterned paper from October Afternoon. When I see lovely paper like this, I try not to cover it all up. I left the quotes out because they fit perfectly with my sentiments on the page. And some details:

March pages for Scrapbook Circle

Hello! In this horribly cold end-of-February, I've enjoyed playing with Scrapbook Circle's March kit called Here's the Story. It's bright and colorful, and making pages with it warmed me up! Here's my first page:

First, I chose pictures that were happy and colorful to go with the lovely papers. I decided to scrap my sons' favorite rides at the Mall of America. I used the main plus a lot from the add-on On My Way and bits from Tell Me. One thing to note about the title: I accidentally broke the "hello" at the H, but I glued it down and masked the flaw with an epoxy sticker.

Next is another page from the Mall of America, this time focusing on my son's and my love of the flume. The rain elements with the Pink Fresh Studio cards and stickers from the add-on Tell Me worked well on a flume page.

And then a page I've had in my mid for a long time: my son made a list for me of his favorite foods, so I put them  on a page with a photo I took of him at our local donut shop. I was watching The Grand Budapest Hotel while I made this page, so I think the colors from that film unconsciously found their way onto my layout. I used the add-on On My Way and

Finally, a page that I've intended for a while and finally got around to making: my son at a Lego robotics camp at Brickmania in Northeast Minneapolis. I started the layout with the journaling cards; their dark hues guided my product choices. In case you were wondering, the circles from the patterned paper I had to hand cut out because I didn't have a circle cutter that fit them perfectly. they're two inch circles, if you wondered. I will now get a 2 inch circle punch.
