Decorative planners

The blog post at Ella Publishing today is a project I did, so please go over and check it out. If you leave a comment, you have a chance to win a planner to decorate yourself!

Here's the scoop: I was sent a planner by the company Per Annum. It's a terrific planner, which lots of data sheets in the back (I liked the time zones pages especially) and spots for notes as well as weekly planner pages. It came with photo slots, which I used to create monthly pages. I used a very simple design with limited supplies, which are on the Ella blog post. Here's the whole album:

I made each page fairly flat, but occasionally I added a gem of two. In this case, four.


*Just a creative note: I used flower stamps for those snowflakes. Interestingly, I have no snowflake stamps. Amazing. I embossed them in white. I also made the bare trees out of a snowflake die cut, and I added snow on the trees and roofs with my Signo Uniball. Easy-peasy!

On the back of each monthly page, I added a journaling spot on the top of each page protector. This is for me to set some monthly goals in reading, family events, financial planning, and creativity, among others. This journaling stamp is from Jillibean Soup, if you're interested.


I had nothing to represent the March winds, but I did have this fan. Isn't it cute?

This might be my favorite page. Doodlebug does such cute stuff!



Most of the items I used came with a returned layout from Scrapbook Trends: Doodlebug stickers and die cuts. I bought a few more border stickers from Doodlebug at Archiver's. I already had the gems and the month stamps (from Studio Calico), and the two-sided patterned paper is BoBunny and Doodlebug.

Because I used the same basic pattern throughout and just varied the products to reflect the month, this was really quick but creative! I cannot wait to use it.
