NSD Sketch Support blog hop!

Here's the sketch we used:


And here's the page I made from it:

I had bunches of brother photos that had not made their way onto other pages. I took them all and printed two more photos from a recent event to make this page. The photo sizes are different, but the orientation is the same.

The idea for the page came from some words from my son, which are on the journaling card above. Click the image to see them bigger. Words like that merit a page, I think.

My boys loved that great big red inflatable whatever.

I love my Bazzill stitching template:

I also love those Cosmo Cricket flower and butterfly die cuts. I'd marry them if I could. Well, not really, but I really love them.


My friend Sandra gave me the idea for putting a quotation in this spot, which I created because I had an empty spot since I messed with the photo orientation. Who knew Leonardo DiCaprio would have such a heartwarming brother quote?

    I scrap because I find it therapeutic. I tend to take lots of pictures of my niece and nephew and I like having the creative outlet of scrapping them.

    I scrap for a few reasons - preserve my daughters photos and history, as a hobby, and to top it off I love shopping for scrapping goodies :)

    I scrap to showcase my pictures. I could just stick them into a binder, but I want to share the story behind the picture. Who's in it, where we are, why are we there. I've inherited shoe boxes filled with pictures, I feel like their stories are lost, and that's so sad.

    I scrapbook for many reasons. I love that I can express my creativity on my layouts, even though I'm not that artistic. I love taking pictures and scrapbooking allows me to showcase those photos. And it's a great way of preserving family memories. I've started a lot more heartfelt journalling this past year and it adds another dimension to my layouts. This hobby is so much fun and I can't imagine life without it.

    Love your layout and what a great quote! I love putting quotes on layouts! I scrap to preserve my family's memories for future generations, plus it is a hobby that has allowed me to meet a lot of lovely gals I wouldn't have otherwise had the opportunity to get to know and call friends!

    I had to laugh about scrapping because of so many supplies. I have the same hobby "collecting supplies". I always say I will not buy more until I use some of what I have. Ha, that changes when I enter the store.

    Love your work, Jennifer! Funny thing about the scavenger hunt---when I saw stitched flourishes, I was betting it would be your layout! You use them so well!
    I love scrapbooking for the creative outlet it gives me---just a bonus that I'm also preserving memories at the same time!

    I love the way you used the sketch and the stitching is the perfect touch on this layout. I scrap because it takes me to my happy place - playing with paper, pictures and the supplies, oh Lord help me, all the wonderful supplies.

    Jennifer, as usual, I love your LO. You've got such style! I love scrapbooking because it preserves my family's life for generations to come. I can't wait to see my first grandchild going through his dad's/mom's scrapbooks! Besides, I need a creative outlet, and all other crafts I've tried, I failed at. I love scrapbooking because however you do it, it's right!

    Wonderful use of a leftover group of photos. Sometimes they make for the best layouts. I scrap for many reasons the biggest being to capture lifes little moments. Thanks for sharing your layout!

    I scrap because I love taking pictures. I want to not only save them but also the special memories attached to them. Plus, my daughters got me started and I love sharing this joy with them. And, then my loving husband retired (need I say more?)

    love layout! I first scrap bc I love to decorate the page with various embellishment but as time went on, I want to remember the stories that went with pictures. My mom has receive a huge boxes of pictures from my grandpa but no story went with it only bit and pieces...

I scrap so my children and hopefully their children can relive memories and we've had over the years, also because I'm picture happy…or maybe I'm picture happy because I scrap…either way I need to do something with all the pictures, might as well make them look great!

    Great layout. Love the comment in the journaling and all the stitching. I scrapbook to preserve my family's memories. I want to remember all those little details years from now that are so easy to forget. Plus it's a great creative outlet for me and I find it to be very therapeutic.

    I think I just answered this question on another blog, but I scrap to preserve and record significant memories, especially by use of journaling. Exactly what you did on your wonderful layout--what a great way to document the comment your son made!

    I enjoy it! I love picking out the papers and embellies to match my photos. I get to spend time with my sister and daughter who are avid scrapbookers. I Love patterned paper, cardstock in beautiful colours, ribbon, buttons and bows and journalling our stories.
