January 2016 pages for Simple Scrapper

Hello! The new year is upon us, and I wanted to share the pages I made for Simple Scrapper. Here's my first, which uses an old story starter and a new sketch:

If, like me, you took photos of the eclipse that were poor, this sketch was a nice one--lots of white space to demonstrate the theme with a good piece of patterned paper since the photos didn't capture what I wanted.

This was a little bit of a kitchen sink page. I picked up do-dads and scraps I had lying around that seemed to fit. and how happy was I to use these glistening Thickers I had gotten long ago that fit the theme?

And then my next page, which used an old sketch that I stretched to two pages with a new story starter:

I tend to do a page like this every winter when my soul languishes for color. I mixed Pink Paislee and October Afternoon mostly for the bright hues to match the photos.

Thank you for visiting my blog! Please go check out Simple Scrapper for ideas this new year to make your scrapbooking more inspired and manageable.

What are your favorites? Scrapbooking the end of the year

Hello! I am scrapbooking on Write Click Scrapbook this week highlighting favorites. Today I'm scrapbooking my favorite photos of the year. I use the same design every year, which simplifies the process, and simple is good. Here's the page:

I used remnants from my December Scrapbook Circle kit, plus some letter stickers and background paper, which I was running low on. I picked yellow for the paper, my favorite color.

And that's my year-end photo review! Please stop by Write Click Scrapbook this week for more fabulous ideas about scrapbooking your favorites.

December gallery for Write Click Scrapbook

December is upon us, and so is the new gallery at Write Click Scrapbook! The theme is holiday favorites, andI had one lone holiday photo unscripted that fit the theme. Here's the page:

I suppose it's fitting that I scrapbook this photo now with the new Star Wars coming out in a couple weeks. I hope you can tell the joke in the page--it's Christmas Lights, with {abers} added after the S just like my sons added Star Wars to the manger.

I also used my favorite scrapbooking products--embellishments, especially stickers and die cuts. No patterned paper this page!

Scrapbooking sunny colors: December's Scrapbook Circle kit

The last month of the trimester is always super busy for me. I am near the end of grading, though--one week to go!--so I got some time to scrapbook using December's Scrapbook Circle kit Tell Your Story. It's bright and cheery, but not in a Christmasy way. That made me happy--I like to dip into summery themes when the weather gets cold. Here are my pages:

These were my two favorite photos from the state fair this year, the boys enjoying ice cream treats.   I picked lots of sweet colors to be a little ice creamy. (On a side note, I scrapbook ice-cream a lot!) Here's the details:

The next page was inspired by scrolling through photos and noticing how many photos I had of my cat in stuff. I printed my most recent favorites and put them together on this page.

That main photo makes me laugh so much. I'm a fan of LOST, and every time I see her with her paw on the glass, I mentally see "NOT PENNY'S BOAT."

This page shares a dream of my son: he met his favorite author, Lincoln Peirce, at a comic convention. And my husband forgot to take a picture. I did the best I could and recorded this page with a photo of him with the autographed book.

The title is a gaming term. I loved adding bits and bobs and stitching them down, just for fun.

Finally, the page I started with that gave me a creative block. I kind of knew what I wanted, but I wasn't sure what exactly I should do. I'm pleased with the final page and glad I was able to push through my creative block.

The font on the title is a new favorite of mine, Wolf in the City. It is GORGEOUS. Here's a link.

I was happy to see the kit had blueberry blue paper, but I wanted it to be ALL blue, so I misted it to cover the white.

Thank you for stopping by! Now that the new term in beginning, I look forward to scrapbooking more regularly again. I have backlogged projects, including a vacation album from 2011, that I want to finish.

It's NO-vember at Write Click Scrapbook

Hello! I am a part of the blogging week at Write Click Scrapbook. Our theme? NO-vember. For me, I decided to scrapbook with no embellishments, something I love. Here's the page:

I did some stitching, but only token stuff down. The stuff were numbers for my list journaling and date and a thin strip I worried would fall off. Other than that, I just used cardstock, 3 pieces of patterned paper (the orange and stripe were back to back), and Thickers.  Here's some details:

Thank you for checking out my page! Please check out Write Click Scrapbook this week for further inspiration this NOvember.

November pages for Scrapbook Circle: Good Cheer!

Hello! Now that November is here, Christmas is just around the corner. Scrapbook Circle has delightful holiday-themedkit called Good Cheer. Here's the pages I made this month.

First, a page about my youngest:

Dominic has a beautiful voice, and he loves acting, so here he is at his turn as John the Baptist with the pleasant beginning of the story. You can see I used a lot of the sequins and doodads in the main kit and the embellishment kit Wish List.

Next is a page about our holiday treat tradition:

I LOVE this background paper by Pinkfresh Studio. I wanted to highlight it so I made the layout align left. This tabs again came from the Wish List Add on.

Then a page about our Christmas MORNING food tradition (seriously, I was hungry this month, I guess!). I used the calendar background paper to house various embellishments, one of my favorite designs.

This time I used the embellishment add on called Count On It, plus a lot of stitching.

I love the acrylic and glitter starts in the main!

Finally, a page about our holiday visitor last year, Reggie the Australian Shepherd.

When I took the photo on the right, I knew I wanted to print it big. Look at how happy the dogs are! (My cat hid during most of Reggie's visit. He was just a little too enthusiastic for her.)

I loved using the 7 journaling cards to edge the photo border. You'll also see lots of the add on Wish List in here.

Thank you for checking out my page! I hope this gets you in the holiday spirit. Please go check out the ideas at Scrapbook Circle and get inspired to create with these gorgeous products!

Mmmm...November gallery for Write Click Scrapbook

Hello! The month of November is upon us, and, appropriately, the November Write Click Scrapbook gallery will focus on food. Here's my page:

This was one of my favorite pages I've made recent;y. The photos were so colorful, and the papers were so bright and fresh. The blue plaid came from a Fancy Pants Designs line called Be Different, and the rest of the paper and stickers came from October Afternoon's Farm Girl, a line I only bought a few things of, thinking, "I don't vegetable garden! When would I ever use this?!?" Silly me. Here's some details:

I liked stitching down various stickers and elements. The title I had to stick down; the adhesives on the back were not terribly solid.

Thank you for checking out my page! I hope you go to Write Click Scrapbook and check out the rest of the gallery to get inspired!
